GRADE 2 NEWS

As we are moving quickly towards the end of the term, a lot is happening in the Grade 2 classroom.

In Literacy, the students continued learning about the ‘Procedural Text’. They are now familiar with the structure and language features and are able to write a procedure on their own. They recently watched a video about ‘How to make hot chocolate?’ and I loved their presentation.

The Grade 2 students revised ‘Fractions’ by colouring their kites with 5 different colours and working out the fraction for each colour used. Everyone was fantastic!

In Integrated Studies, we started a new topic -‘Water Works’. The students learnt about various resources we get from the Earth and investigated two of them closely- the soil and the sand. Students worked in groups and recorded their observations on a table. They also learnt about the ‘Water Cycle’.

This was the last week at ‘Jets’ Gymnastics’. The students had a lot of fun and exercise for the last six weeks and learnt many new skills.

Apart from the routine, the students got to do some fun activities too in the last couple of weeks. They got the chance to consolidate their science learning with some hands –on activities during their recent science incursion i.e. ‘MAD ABOUT SCIENCE’. We also did some experiments in our class explaining various science phenomena.

I would like to thank all the parents who are helping their kids with their homework and signing their reading logs regularly.
